The Javan Gibbon is a very agile rainforest acrobat. The distribution of this species is limited to Java Island. The Javan Gibbon is commonly found in lowland to upland forests. They currently survive in patches of forests mostly in West Java and other forest such as in Central Java’s Mount Slamet and the Dieng plateau. This frugivorous primate plays an important role in rainforest seed dispersal. The fruit they eat will be digested while the seed is excreted and will grow away from the mother plant.
